I have seen that a lot of people don’t know how to setup full functioning android system on VMware or doesn’t even know about it at all. People use softwares like Bluestacks that is full of adwares and doesn’t support a lot of things. I recommend using it through VMware because it is better, faster and no ads at all.
1.Get an Android image from here. Latest one right now is 4.3
1.

2.Open VMware and press CTRL+N and then click on next.
2
3
3.Now, browse to the location where you have the android image and click on open, VMware will automatically detect freeBSD system.
4.
5
4.Click on next and name your system.
6
5.Again click on next and select how much memory you want to allocate to your android system.
7
6.Click on next, now if you want to make changes to the hardware like RAM, or Network then you can do it here, just click on “Customize Hardware” button and make changes.
8
7.Click on finish and the VM will start automatically.
8.You will see the following screen now, go to the last option that says “Installation – blah blah”  and press enter.9
9.The system will load some files, after loading you will see the following screen, just press enter on “Create/Modify Partitions”.
10
10.Using your keyboard hover to the “New” option and press enter.
10
11.Press enter again for primary and once again after that.
10
12.Now, go to “Write” option using your keyboard and press Enter. Then it will ask for confirmation, so put in “yes” with your keyboard and press Enter key again.10
13.Now using your keyboard again, go to “Quit” and press Enter.
10
14.Now, you will see something like this, press Enter again on it:
10
15.It will ask you to select the filesystem in which you want to format sda1. Select ext3 from the list and press Enter. It will ask you to confirm so click on Yes and then will start formatting.10
16.Once formatted it will ask to install Grub bootloader, go to Yes and press Enter.
10
17.Now, it will ask if you want to have system directory to be writable or not, having writable system directory will give to root access yet it takes time, so depends upon you. Want to have fun with android system files? then yes else no.

18.System installation will start now, wait for a while….
10
19.Done! Press enter and android will load. Set it up and you are ready to use.
10
20.Have fun, feel free to ask questions if you are having problems.
